David Beisel
( Vice President, Venrock )

Bio

David joined Venrock as a Vice President in 2007 to focus on investments in the digital media and mobile space. He currently serves on the board of two Venrock portfolio companies, BlogHer and Second Rotation. Previously, David was a principal at Masthead Venture Partners in Cambridge, Massachusetts. While at Masthead, he helped lead an investment in Expo TV, and was an integral member of the investment team for Tremor Media, Intercasting, TripConnect, and NewsGator. Prior to joining Masthead, he co-founded Sombasa Media, an e-mail marketing company which was successfully acquired and subsequently became the About Direct division of Primedia (NYSE: PRM). As Vice President of Marketing at Primedia, David led the marketing group responsible for the company's e-mail newsletter product suite, managed the division's customer relationship operations, and coordinated related business development activities. In addition, he has worked as a management consultant at The Parthenon Group and in product management at Adobe Systems. David’s educational background includes an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and an AB in Economics, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Duke University. Constance Freedman
( Cue Ball )

Bio

Constance Freedman brings to Cue Ball private equity, venture, and early-stage operating experience. Constance is responsible for sourcing investment opportunities in consumer and information businesses and helping portfolio companies achieve their strategic goals. Prior to Cue Ball, Constance was an Associate at Mt. Auburn Partners, a private equity firm focused on investments in business and consumer services. She founded Freedman Ventures where she conducted investment evaluations in spaces including consumer, software and information services and pursued an independent buyout of an information services firm. Constance has seven years operating experience at technology start-ups including Molecular (backed by CMGI, acquired by Isobar) and Account4.com (acquired by Lawson). In addition, Constance spent three years as a licensed real estate professional. Peter Shannon
( Principal, Atlas Venture )

Bio

Peter Shannon is a Principal in the technology group, and joined Atlas Venture in 2005. Before joining Atlas Venture, Peter was an MBA student at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. During business school, he worked as a Summer Associate at Bain & Company's San Francisco office, serving a life sciences instrument manufacturer supporting genomic and proteomic research. Prior to business school, Peter was Vice President of Technology at Browz Group, a company he invested in and advised throughout start-up. Browz Group provides large customers in power generation, chemical, and other heavy industries with on-line supply chain verification services, to help them and their suppliers exchange compliance-related information. Peter led the company's software development organization through a turnaround to bring its software infrastructure in line with the complex needs of Browz Group's rapidly growing client base. Peter's leadership resulted in improved communication between the technology group and the rest of the company and the development of a flexible data-driven compliance database. This helped Browz Group scale gracefully to meet the sophisticated needs of its clients. Prior to joining Browz Group, Peter built several years of software design and leadership experience serving as a technology consultant to Orbitz, Bank of America's Global Derivative Products Group, and Sprint. While an undergraduate, Peter co-founded Eye Response, Inc., a company that pioneered computer eye tracking systems. He received a U.S. Patent for his inventions and drove commercialization of the technology for applications in healthcare as an assistive aid for quadriplegics. Peter holds an MBA, with High Honors, from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a BS, with Distinction, in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia.
