Congressional Innovation Panel, April 07

Congressional Innovation Panel
At the U.S. Capitol in Washington DC
April 19, 2007, 12 - 1:30 pm

Please join us for a panel discussion at the U.S. Capitol in Washington DC exploring how universities create tech transfer startups in their communities. University startups produce high paying jobs, increase American competitiveness and improve the quality of life of U.S. citizens. Each year universities receive close to $40 billion in federal funding for R&D investments that promote the improvement of the national innovation economy.

The discussion will highlight university startup organizations that are creatively bringing in a return on the federal investment.

Panelists include:

  • Michael Chasen, CEO and co-founder, Blackboard (a public company started at a university, and which has acquired other university startups)
  • John Fraser, Past President, Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM)
  • Bill Tucker, Executive Director, Research Administration and Technology Transfer, University of California, Office of the President
  • Tony Stanco, Director, National Council of Entrepreneurial Tech Transfer (NCET2.org)

The National Council of Entrepreneurial Tech Transfer (NCET2.org) is pleased to co-host this discussion with the Congressional Internet Caucus Advisory Committee to introduce Congressional staffers who track technology policy to leaders in technological innovation.

In order to attend, please RSVP below. This is a FREE event, but space is limited to 75 attendees , so priority seating will be given to senior university officials, university technology managers and venture capitalists.
